Spot light of reality

I took this photograph in Cambridge with my southern model who is called Dominique. She was an amazing model to work with and she would let me compose her how ever I liked with no trouble at all which made my life a lot easier as the photographer. I think this pose to the left is the nearest and most realistic shot I will get for Vogue magazine. My mind was really in the middle of a vogue magazine when I took this shot. I really wanted to try and capture a real Vogue pose. They are not necessarily flattering poses but the effect from a photographer’s point of view is quite striking. Although I was really happy with the shot I still found myself wanting something more. So I began to experiment with the lighting on CS2. I thought the spotlight really captures the moment. I wanted to create light soft tones on the left hand side and more dark and contrast effect on the right hand side. The bottom of the image was very dull so I thought I would cover that up completely and darken the tones. I am really happy with this shot.
